Use the blue and green buttons below to select MAMU data.
MAMU Location: Point Roberts Marina, Point Roberts
MAMU Location: Dugald Morrison Park, Delta
Please select a month/year from the drop-down to display data.
Then use the coloured buttons to switch between MAMU locations.
Note: Monthly with an asterisk (*) did not have either MAMU deployed. The MAMU trailers were demobilized for the fall/winter months as historical data has shown very low level of PM during the wet season. The trailer(s) are re-deployed in the spring. There was an exception in 2020, where neither MAMU trailers were deployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
MAMU1
PM10 concentrations presented above represent particulate from all sources of PM10 in the region.
Any air quality advisories, indicated by darker-coloured bars on the graph above, have been issued by Metro Vancouver for the region due to local forest fire smoke.
The radar charts indicate the percentage of total PM10 collected by the MAMU over the month from each wind direction. The grey wedge on the chart indicates the wind direction that originates from Westshore Terminals.
The Average Coal Content is estimated by laboratory examination of material collected on a filter within the particulate monitoring device and expressed as a percentage. The number of suspected coal particles is compared to the overall sample size to estimate the percentage of coal present. For example, one coal particle out of 100 particles present represents 1% Average Coal Content.
The graph above shows the daily average PM10 monitored at the MAMU location. PM10 are small airborne particles such as dust, fumes and smoke with diameters less than 10 micrometres. They are emitted from various sources including: natural sources, trees and plants, and manmade sources such as vehicle traffic, farming, construction and industrial operations such as Westshore Terminals.
The dotted line indicates the British Columbia Ministry of Environment Ambient Air Quality Objective for PM10 of 50 μg/m3. The Ministry of Environment and Metro Vancouver uses Ambient Air Quality Objectives to manage air quality in BC. Air quality objectives are used to gauge current and historical air quality and guide decisions on impact assessments and authorizations.
